Academy Teams
Academy Teams at Charlotte Rise FC
Academy Teams is the competitive pathway at Charlotte Rise FC. Players join by tryout, train through the year, and compete in three age bands. The club's approach is skills-first and development-focused: more ball time, hands-on coaching, and a place where young players are expected to grow both on and off the field.
How the program is organized
Academy Teams runs as one program with three age bands. U8–U10 covers birth years 2016–2018, U11–U12 covers 2014–2015, and U13–U19 covers 2007–2013. All three age bands share a single registration endpoint on the Rise FC website, so families register in one place regardless of which band their player belongs to. Registration and the current tryout schedule live on the separate Academy Teams Tryouts page rather than on this hub.
Weekly training schedule
The current published Fall weekly training schedule puts girls on Monday and Wednesday and boys on Tuesday and Thursday. Girls U8–U10 train at Rea Farms STEAM Academy from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, and girls U11–U12 train at the same venue from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Girls U13–U19 train at Ballantyne Ridge HS from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Boys U8–U10 train at Rea Farms STEAM Academy from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, and boys U11–U12 follow at that venue from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Boys U13–U19 train at Ballantyne Ridge HS from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This weekly training schedule is separate from the Academy Teams tryout schedule and does not replace it.
Where Academy Teams compete
Academy Teams compete in the Carolina Champions League and enter local tournaments and regional tournaments across the season. Rise FC girls made their middle school teams last year, which is the kind of outcome the Academy pathway is built to support.
